Robert Kestell-Cornish

The Rt Rev Robert Kestell-Cornish was the inaugural Bishop of Madagascar[1] from 1874 to 1896[2].
He was born in 1824 and educated at Winchester and Corpus Christi College, Oxford and ordained in 1847[3]. He began his career with a curacy at St Mary Fittleworth[4] and later was Vicar of Landkey before his elevation to the Colonial Episcopate [5]. On his return to England he was Rector of Down St Mary. He died on 7 March 1909[6].
